What is a Water's Edge weekend service like?
Each weekend at Water's Edge you’ll find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with fresh Community coffee and snacks (free, we promise). We'll sing exciting, contemporary worship music together led by our excellent house band. A large-screen slide presentation helps you make the most of the practical and relevant message given by one of our leaders. Children are well-cared for in a loving, quality nursery and fun-filled Water's Edge Kids service. Our goal is to set a tone that will allow you to be more focused on God, and less concerned about what's going on around you.
Where is the Water's Edge located?
The Water's Edge is located at the Water's Edge Community Theater (A multi-use facility built as a gift to Lake Charles). The physical address is 2760 Power Centre Parkway, Lake Charles, LA, 70607 (Map It).
How early should I get there?
Plan on arriving to the campus at least 15 minutes before the service starts. That will give you time to park, check your kids in to their classrooms and grab a cup of coffee before the service begins. Then you'll want to make sure you get into the auditorium before the music starts. You should see a countdown timer on the screens in the foyer and auditorium letting you know how much time remains before we start.
What will happen when I visit for the first time?
If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” for awhile—and that’s fine with us! Come in, have some coffee, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and see if this is the church for you. If you want more information, just head out to the Blue Tables in the Foyer and we'll try to answer any questions you might have.
What do I wear to attend your services?
You’ll find we are pretty casual here. The pastor will probably be wearing jeans, so come in what is comfortable for you, because The Edge is not about what you look like or what you wear.
What about my children?
At Water's Edge your children are a top priority. Our nurseries are clean, safe, and staffed with loving workers for newborns to 5 year olds. We offer a dynamic children's ministry for 1st through 5th grade called Water's Edge Kids as well as life-changing environments for students from Middle and High School through college.
Will I be asked to give money?
If this is your first time with us we want you to keep your wallet in your pocket. Just come and experience a service at Water's Edge. If you like it and want to call it your church home, then we believe giving to God and His church is part of being a Christ-follower.
How can I get to know other people at The Water's Edge?
While the Water's Edge may look like a large crowd at first glance, we're really a church of Small Groups. The best way to get to know others is to join a small group. Head to the Blue Tables in the Foyer after any gathering for more information.
How can I get involved at the Edge?
Great Question! There are several great ways to get involved in the Water's Edge:
What Denomination is Water's Edge?
Water's Edge is a non-denomnational church, which means that we are not affiliated with a denomination, such as Baptist, Methodist, etc. We are an independent Bible-based church. We are governed by our staff leadership and our leadership team.
Do you provide accomodations for those with special needs or disabilities at the Edge?
Handicapped seating is available in the auditorium. For specific locations, please ask our greeters as you enter the main auditorium.
What if I have more questions?
We are more than happy to try and answer any questions your might have. Please contact us and we'll work hard to make sure you get your questions answered. You can also drop by the Blue Tables in the Foyer of the building before or after any gathering and we'll be happy to help you in any way we can.
