Next Steps

Life is a Journey

As a church we want to do whatever we can to help you move along in your journey. Most people think church is too boring, too intimidating or just not relevant to their life. We believe the exact opposite! The Water's Edge is focused on helping you take your next steps toward Jesus. This page highlights a few of the next steps you might be interested in.

You can also visit the blue tables located just outside the auditorium doors before or after any gathering to get more information on your next steps.

The Reason We Exist

The Bible tells us that Jesus is God in the body of a man; He is God the Son, eternally one with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. He alone can forgive our sins (our failures, the bad things that we do) and rescue us from those sins.

Many people believe that Jesus lived, was a good teacher and a very spiritual man, but they deny that he is God. We must be careful to believe in the Jesus that he himself declared he was, "not be[ing] led astray from [our] sincere and pure devotion to Christ" (2 Corinthians 11:3).

If you are interested in knowing more about Jesus, just drop us a line on the contact page.

The First Act of Obedience

Baptism is a unique and powerful symbol of the change that Jesus has brought into us.

Baptism is considered as the first step of obedience of a Christ Follower. It doesn't save anyone, but it serves to make our decision public and identify ourselves as Christ Followers. By going underneath the water and then coming back out, we are connected to Jesus and "reborn" in a way that is difficult to put into words.

Baptism can be a confusing subject, but we are here to help!

If you are interested in pursuing baptism, we hold a simple class on the last Sunday of every month at 6 PM that gives you a chanceto learn about what the Bible says about Baptism and to get your questions answered. You can just show up or if you have questions drop us a line on the contact page.

The Call of a Disciple

Why do We Serve?

Water's Edge is a church driven by volunteers. Volunteers are people who have committed themselves to the work God is doing through Water's Edge. They give their time, talents, and finances to help spread the message of Jesus to a world that needs to hear it desperately. You can find out more about serving at the Edge below:

Our Serve has lots of ways to get involved at the Water's Edge

Don't Do Life Alone

At Water's Edge, we believe that Life Change best happens in the context of a Small Group of people that gather together regularly for prayer, bible study, encouragement, and service in our city.

Water's Edge Groups meet during the week in Coffee Shops, Homes, Apartments, Condos, and pretty much anywhere else we can cram one.

Head to the blue tables in the church foyer to find more information on how to join or lead a group at the Water's Edge.

Tell Your Story

Jesus changes lives, and when that happens we want to celebrate and share those stories! We want Edgers to share their stories with their friends, their family, the coworkers, anyone who will listen!

Also, as a church we want to celebrate those stories by sharing some of them on our website and in our services. We're looking for all sorts of stories of how God has been moving in the lives of people at the Water's Edge.

  • In rescue, such as salvation in Jesus or freedom from a particular sin or healing from a broken situation or relationship.
  • In loving care, such as an answered prayer, a divine appointment or an instance of God's special favor.
  • In mission, such as volunteering, serving the community or bringing others closer to Jesus.
  • We can't promise every story will be told on video or on the website, but we will share as many as possible with Water's Edge staff and volunteers to encourage them in their ministry! If you would be willing to share that story with us we would love to hear about it! Just go to our Contact Page and put "My Story" in the heading.
